We started running Speed Dating events in 2006. When we started up, we found there was no franchise that could offer us what we wanted. We wanted to have our own website, the way we wanted it. We also needed to advertise locally. There was no point in having a listing on a national franchise page, since 99.99% of the traffic to the site was from other areas. Nobody in our area would see it! So we decided to set everything up from scratch and to make it perfect for us!

It worked out great. Our advertising was local, we held events that appealed to the people in our area, and everything went very well. We had fun and made nice profits too. It showed that we were doing things right.

Then we replicated our success in another city. Others had tried to run Speed Dating events there before, but hadn’t managed to get enough interest to be able to hold regular events. We did. Our approach was a big hit, and we now run regular events. Again, we got it right.

The downside was that it took a lot of work to set things up from scratch. More than we had expected! Then we were asked to set it up for other people in other places, so that they could avoid all the work of setting things up. So that’s just what we did.
